Tour de Province – Complete! |
Manchester Level Club members Tom Daniel, Elliot Jervis and JP McCrossan managed to ride to each Masonic Hall in the Province of East Lancashire in one weekend all in the name of charity! What an amazing effort! Here they are at the finish line at Hemsley House, Salford with Hall Chairman Stan Jackson and the APGM of the City West Area WBro. Peter Hegarty. They would like to thank all the halls that accommodated them over the three days of cycling and everybody that donated. They managed to raise over £1100 for the East Lancashire 2026 Festival. Huge well done again to Tom, Elliot and JP. The question on everybody’s lips is what will they do next……….. |

As you will see below there’s a lot happening in and around the club over the next few months! We’ve provided you with a handy round-up below before going into the detail. We appreciate that you’ll not be able to take part in all of our visits and events. As a reminder, with all of our Lodge and Chapter Visits, visiting is the key element here. Don’t feel by visiting you’re also obligated to dine out at the Social Board at each and every one – you are not. As much as it can often enhance your experience, you’ll still get to meet new Brethren, learn new things and make those all important new connections regardless, which is what we’re all about! Saturday 16th September – MLC Learning Session – Hemsley House Thursday 5th October – MLC Chapter Visit 1, Townley Parker – Manchester Hall Monday 9th October – MLC Lodge Visit 1, The Lodge of the Silent Temple 126 – Manchester Hall Tuesday 28th November – MLC Lodge Visit 2 & Presentation, The Lodge of the Silent Temple 126, Manchester Hall Wednesday 13th December – MLC Lodge Visit 3, Caledonian 204 – Manchester Hall |

MLC LODGE VISIT 1!!1723 Constitutions Presentation |
As 2023 marks the tercentenary of the publication in London of The Constitutions of the Freemasons, you may have seen or even attended the Especial Meeting of United Grand Lodge in January to celebrate this occasion. The 1723 Constitutions (often referred to as Anderson’s Constitutions) quite frankly transformed Freemasonry. Hot off the back of their last meeting, The Lodge of the Silent Temple 126 have managed to secure an evening with Dr. Ric Berman! Dr. Berman was part of the celebrations at the Especial Meeting in January. We’re honoured that he’ll be coming to visit the Lodge on Monday 9th October at Manchester Hall, Bridge Street to give us a talk on the 1723 Constitutions. This is our first MLC Lodge Visit after the Summer Break so please do come along and meet more members of the club at what is bound to be another unforgettable evening! The meeting is nearly full so please get your registrations in asap if you’re looking to come along to the meeting! Hit the registration button below! |

MLC CHAPTER VISIT 1!! The Next Chapter? |
Our friends at Townley Parker are holding a special event for all Non-Royal Arch Masons to visit their Chapter on Thursday 5th October 2023 at Manchester Hall, Bridge Street for a talk by Dr. Robert Lomas on “Why is the Royal Arch Relevant?”. His aim will be to explain the relevance of Royal Arch Freemasonry and show how it fits within the Masonic structure of The Craft degrees. He will take you through the meaning of the Entered Apprentice Degree up to how the Royal Arch of Jerusalem was set up to explain and explore what might have happened to the real secrets which were so carelessly misplaced at the end of the Third Degree. Dr Robert Lomas is a quantum physicist, a retired Fellow in Operations Management, and a popular author. He has written a number of Sunday Times Best Sellers starting with The Hiram Key, (co-authored with Chris Knight) and more recently a Masonic Tutor’s Series. If you’re intrigued about your next step in Freemasonry and want to find out more about the Royal Arch then this is a visit not to be missed. You’ll find MLC members already in Townley Parker Chapter and other Non-Royal Arch Masons within the club have also registered for the event so come along as you’ll be in good company! This is our first ever MLC Chapter Visit and we’re very much looking forward to it! Hit the button below to register for the meeting and we hope to see you there! |

MLC LODGE VISIT 2!!MLC Presentation Team |
For those of you that made it to The Lodge of the Silent Temple 126 in May you would have seen the MLC present an Explanation of the First Degree…well it’s time for a new project for our presentation team! The Lodge of the Silent Temple 126 and the East Lancashire Learning & Development Team have once again asked us to prepare a presentation and this time we’ve chosen….drum roll please….An Explanation of the First Degree Tracing Board! The presentation will take place on Tuesday 28th November at Manchester Hall, Bridge Street. You may be thinking that is some time away…well it is…BUT…we need to create a presentation and also rehearse…and that is where you come in! If you saw us in May and feel like you want to get involved and do something a little bit different in the Lodge room then please reach out to us and hit the button below. You don’t have to be experienced at all…in fact…if you aren’t and have never done any ritual based learning before then this is a great place to start! We always learn in a positive, supportive and friendly environment designed to make you feel more confident in the Lodge room. We’re putting the team together at the moment and then we’ll allocate out roles within the presentation. This is a great way to learn more about the craft whilst also being part of something a little bit different to your normal Lodge meeting. If you just want to come and watch then that’s also absolutely fine – we’ll be posting registration details for Lodge Visit Number 2 in the next newsletter! |
